The Mayor of Moratalla, Antonio Garci’a, has delivered excellent prospects for growth in the region following the approval of the General Plan of Moratalla. This announcement officially ratifies earlier planning criteria and gives the green light for the next stage of the Finca El Cano and El Estrecho developments, enabling architects to submit their detailed proposals.

The Moratalla Plan uses a model of sustainable development, building a broad-based community, including houses, schools and an enterprise park. An issue of concern in the decision making was the sufficiency of the water supply and Garci’a indicated Moratella was well able to meet demand, city developments consuming only one-third of  the amount consumed in agricultural use while generating much more economic activity.

The Mayor spoke of this decision as beginning a new phase in Moratalla’s history, one which will see the population again grow, eventually reaching 15,000-20,000.

The ratification of the Moratalla Plan is good new for investors. The most recent site plan (shown here) includes an increase in plot size to 500m2. The models for the house on the sites are now being drawn up and will be sent to you as soon as they are available.
